It’s going to be an exciting few years for golf following the Ryder Cup success in 2010 and the significant investment in golf infrastructure through organisations such as the Welsh Assembly Government and Sport Wales.

Golf appeals to a wide cross-section of the population with more and more young people and increasingly women now being attracted to the sport, in addition to the traditional male audience that the sport appeals to.

Partnerships linked to major golf events or personalities are at a premium, yet many companies are realising that they can gain brand awareness through supporting young golfers, and potential future champions, through their corporate social responsibility agenda.

There are around 2,500 golf clubs in the UK with approximately four million adults playing regularly, around 8% of the population, so supporting golf makes good business sense. About 15% of golf club members are women and the number is growing (source British Golf Industry Association).

A number of companies have already given their support to Ffion’s development….why not add your name to the list?
